AcrossLimits places first within two categories in the H2020 Awards

AcrossLimits has received awards for the Best Promotion of STEM, and the Best Impact for Health, Security, or Smart Mobility Award.

The Horizon Europe Launch event held at Chaplain’s Hall in Esplora Kalkara, brought together H2020 researchers, innovators and stakeholders in a ceremony that celebrated nine different categories. These categories included the Best Impact for Health, Security or Smart Mobility Award, The Green Award, The Blue Award, Gender, Culture, Equality or Citizen Science Award, Best Innovative SME Award, Best Promotion of STEM Award, Best Technological Innovation Award and Most Active Researcher Award.

In a short video interview conducted by the Malta Council for Science and Technology, CEO Angele Giuliano spoke about AcrossLimits’ work in the awarded sectors. Named as Best Promotion of STEM, the er4stem project is aimed at making science and technology more entertaining for students. It has made its way around Europe and taught over 5000 students how to program robots called Dash, in order to teach programming in a more practical manner. On the other hand, The Centre of Excellence for Computational Biomolecular Research (Bio-Excel 2) was awarded the prize of Best Impact for Health, Security, or Smart Mobility Award, and is a project that embeds extreme-scale computing at the heart of Life Science research. It uses supercomputers to do calculations and simulations, that in turn help with the creation of new pharmaceuticals.
