This year’s EU Sustainable Energy Week will take place throughout the month of October, with various activities focused on building a secure energy future for Europe. It provides an opportunity for networking and collaboration amongst public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers. This year’s theme is Towards 2030: Reshaping the European energy system

What can we expect to see throughout this week?

Extended Programme

Prior to the EU Sustainable Energy Week, an extended programme of side events will be taking place from 11 to 22 October 2021, featuring a series of digital events complementing the main programme. The extended programme offers further opportunities to promote and engage in issues surrounding clean energy and Europe’s Green Deal objectives.

Main Programme

The Main programme for EU Sustainable Energy Week, which will take place from 25 to 29 October 2021, will feature the Policy Conference, the biggest European conference focusing on renewables and efficient energy use in Europe.

The 2021 Policy Conference will be organised in a digital format.

Public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, businesses, civil society organisations and the media are all invited to register and participate in the conference.

The Second European Youth Energy Day

This will take place from 25 to 29 October 2021 and will gather 18-30 year olds, giving them a platform where they can share their ideas on how to transform Europe into the first climate-neutral continent. 

The event will include the first European Youth Energy Communication Hackathon from 25 October to 27 October 2021.

The Networking Village

The Networking village, open to all participants, will take place virtually and  serves as a complementary event to the high-level Policy Conference. It will be hosted on the event platform from 25 to 29 October 2021.

The aim is to bring together key players in the field of sustainable energy. Participants and stakeholders are invited to exchange ideas on policies and best practices and discuss future cooperation.

Participants will be able to interact with topics of their interest and connect with other participants. They are also free to visit exhibition booths which contain further information and networking opportunities. 

The Energy Fair is a virtual exhibition with live video chat functionality, offering a chance to visit partner and exhibitor stands.
