Dr. Agius has significant expertise in assistive technology (AT) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, research, policy development, and international cooperation. She has collaborated with organisations such as UNICEF, WHO, and the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD), offering expert guidance on inclusive education, disability strategy, and AT implementation in middle-income and European countries. With a PhD focused on AAC and autism, Dr. Agius brings a strong academic foundation alongside hands-on experience in service development, training, and promoting inclusive systems. A member of AAATE, IALP, and ISAAC, she actively contributes to international discourse on person- centred technology, inclusion, and participation.
