The Konya Provincial National Education Directorate (Konya IL MEM) is a state institution overseeing preschool, primary, secondary, and adult education across 31 districts. It manages 2,913 schools, 36,439 teachers, and 543,379 students, serving as the umbrella organisation for this vast educational network.

Konya IL MEM aims to be a leading institution comparable with counterparts in Turkey and abroad, contributing to the Turkish National Education System by effectively applying knowledge, skills, values, and technology suited to the Knowledge Era.

Our mission is to improve the efficiency and motivation of institutions and staff, while advancing education by integrating modern innovations, research, and regulations in line with national principles. We also provide in-service training for staff, students, and young jobseekers.

We work closely with key stakeholders such as the Municipality of Konya, health and social service directorates, youth and sports bodies, universities, vocational centres, cultural institutions, and trade unions to tackle challenges and find solutions in education.

Through our Office of European Union Projects, Konya IL MEM has coordinated 142 EU-funded projects and continues to lead Erasmus+ initiatives, strengthening international cooperation and educational excellence.
