Juha Saarnio is currently an entrepreneur specialising in China-EU business and management consulting. He holds the position Partner and COO of FinC Trade Platform and consults through his own company Arcinno Ltd.
Previously he held the position of Head of Innovation Networks and CDO at Technology Industries Finland (TIF). His responsibilities included looking after the Finnish industrial interests in building Europe’s digital single market and enhancing the innovation capabilities of Finnish technology companies. This included specifically a great interest in building the Real-time Economy for the EU. Prior to that, he managed several small companies in China for three years.
Juha was an elected Board Member of DIGITALEUROPE for over five years and serves currently on board of Arcinno Ltd, FinC Trade Platform and Icareus Ltd. He has previously worked with Nokia for fifteen years in various managerial and leadership positions. The last position he held was the Head of Public Research Programs at Nokia Research Center. In that capacity he has worked very closely with EU RDI, digital media service innovations, and in particular with Living Labs and testbeds. He is a well-known global speaker, e.g. in the areas of Innovation Ecosystems and User-centric Design.
Juha received his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Technology from the Helsinki University of Technology. In addition to telecommunications, he has studied International Marketing, Corporate Strategy, Management and Leadership. He has been a member of the Steering Board and Executive Group, as well as, the SRA Co-editor of eMobility, an ICT European Technology Platform on Mobile and Wireless Communications. Among other positions, he has also served as the Vice Chair of the CELTIC Eureka Cluster and as a Steering Board member of three DIMES Programmes.
